On line 'Boat Directory'

This is a chance for all boat captains to 'show off' their vessel! Our intent is to develop a 'Gallery' which shows your boat, gives some technical data and includes any comments you wish to say about it. Remember, this is the "World Wide Web" so people from all over the world will have a chance to learn about you and your boat. We believe that by displaying the number of, the diversity in size and appearance and your story, we will greatly raise the level of enthusiasm for paddlewheel boats. After all, the mission of the American Sternwheel Association is "Helping to keep alive that precious bit of Americana, the Paddlewheel Riverboat".

This is going to be a formidable task on our part just to develop that portion of the web site but, we feel the job is worth doing and we will do it. However, to be successful it depends on you, the boat captains. You must take the time to take some pictures, fill in the data sheets and do a write-up about your vessel. This will be especially important for those of you who don't already have a 'personal web site' for your boat.

We've included a 'basic' questionnaire, shown below, that should help (click here to obtain a print-out copy). Pictures can be sent to us either by regular mail or, if you have the equipment, can be sent as e-mail attachments. Those sent as attachments should be in 'JPEG' format. Text material can be sent by regular mail, as e-mail or as attachments in 'word.doc' format. All electronic communications should be directed to yeoman@americansternwheel.org . All regular mail should be sent to the American Sternwheel Association, PO Box 1482, Charleston, WV 25325
